What We Check for Conklin Contractors
Conklin's core application method may not be covered
Many CGL policies specifically exclude spray-applied coatings and overspray damage — the primary method Conklin contractors use. If this exclusion applies, you have no coverage for your most common work.
Your membrane system may be explicitly excluded
Policies frequently carve out TPO and PVC membrane roofing by name. If you install Conklin membrane systems and your policy has this exclusion, you're working without coverage.
Exposed buildings and sub work are common gaps
Many policies exclude open roof conditions (exposed building interior during a job) and any work performed by or through subcontractors — both routine in Conklin projects.
Work above a certain height may not be covered
Many policies cap coverage at 15–25 feet above grade. Commercial roofing regularly exceeds that threshold. A fall claim above the limit could be entirely uncovered.
Injury exclusions and square footage caps cut coverage
Watch for exclusions on worker and subcontractor injuries, and hard caps on buildings over 20,000 sq ft commercial or 5,000 sq ft residential — common thresholds that can void your coverage entirely.
